Lou Dobb's Radio Show

I called into the program in reference to cities cutting back on police services offered.  As a police officer, I stated, if people need me I am there whether I'm paid or not.  It is more about the commitment and responsibility we take than the money we make.  I feel that many officers across the country feel the same way.  There are many hours that are given to the community unpaid and that is fine.  The main thing is to be there when people need me.

A Lifestyle

I tell you...I can go to the gym and I can eat right, for a period of time, but I drop off each and everytime.  I don't make it a part of my lifestyle.  I love chicken wings! When I was talking to April about my love of chicken wings she said, "if you wouldn't eat as many when you do, you'd be alright."  When I eat wings I eat enough to stain my fingers for a week!  Just like anything we have to set our minds to it and be committed.  Until we really want to do something we are not going to put our complete focus on it.  Isn't it easy to do the things we love? Don't we make time for things we really want to do?  I guess it's time to weigh the positives and negatives of the lifestyle I currently have.  Hmm...I will not give up the foods I love, but moderation? I may can handle that.  You won't see me with a plate of celery and carrots anytime soon, but limitation on the things I love might be the answer... and a run down one of these county roads.  Drivers... look out!

Opportunity Knocks

(I posted this on the Tortillas Blanco blog, Monday, February 18, 2008. ..."the path I am 'still' going down now".)

Starting your own business isn't easy. It takes hard work, dedication, and a substantial amount of risk. I am now 28 years old and I got "wrapped up" in the tortilla business at age 25. My search for "what do I want to be when I grow up?" had many challenges. I worked at many different jobs from the time I left college to starting my business. I am not unlike many people my age, searching. I was always looking, looking through the "Help Wanted" ads, looking for ideas, looking for opportunities, anything that looked promising. I really got to a point of being discouraged, feeling that I had the ability but, not finding the right place to put it into motion. I look at my motivation for my business now and see this as fulfilling. I would tell people just like myself who are struggling through the "real world" to keep looking, striving to achieve. My opportunities in fact were created through those past jobs that were so discouraging it only added experience and cleared the trail for the path I am going down now.

See Meth Stop Meth

I recently took the opportunity to create a "See Meth Stop Meth" page on Facebook.  I will be posting information to the public to increase awareness about Meth.  Thanks for clicking the "LIKE" button.http://www.facebook.com/?ref=home#!/pages/See-Meth-Stop-Meth/141568999216768?ref=ts

As A Man Thinks...

Success, just as failure, is simply a state of mind. Even in what one might consider failure there is success. It may be some time down the road before it is realized, but it is there for somebody to find. In all experiences there is learning. Application is sometimes the most difficult part. Our attitude determines so much when it comes to the challenges we face.
